Indian Journal Of Gender Studies is an academic journal focused on the field of gender studies with the core objective of providing a holistic understanding of gender issues in society. The journal encourages and publishes research, analysis, and informed discussion of gender issues, with the aim of promoting a deeper understanding of gender roles, gender relations, and gender structures in society through scholarly inquiry.

Contributions to the journal often challenge existing social attitudes and academic biases that may hinder a comprehensive understanding of the role of the family, particularly women members of the family, the community and the wider polity. In this way, the journal not only promotes academic discussion of gender issues, but also promotes social awareness of gender equality and gender justice.
