The African Journal Of Disability is an academic journal focused on the field of disability studies and rehabilitation science in Africa, with the aim of advancing disability studies and rehabilitation science in an academic context unique to Africa. The journal encourages academic exchange between scholars from different disciplines and countries with different income levels to promote the improvement of human development practices on the African continent.
With special emphasis on disability in the context of African development, This includes, but is not limited to, disability research in public health, occupational and community rehabilitation, community development and medical issues related to disability and poverty, disability-related stigma and discrimination, inclusive education, disability-related laws, policies, human rights and advocacy issues, the role of the arts and media in disability, disability as part of the global Sustainable Development Goals transformation agenda, disability Related to post-colonial issues, globalization and the relationship between cultural change and disability, disability-related environmental and climate issues, disability, diversity and the intersection of identities, and the promotion of human development.
