The Alter-european Journal Of Disability Research is an academic journal dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary communication in the field of disability research. The journal's multidisciplinary perspective reflects a comprehensive focus on disability, recognizing that disability is not only a medical phenomenon, but also a social, cultural and economic one. By publishing research from different disciplines, the journal provides a rich academic resource for understanding the complexity and diversity of disability.
The journal encourages researchers to explore social models of disability, considering how disability interacts with social structures, cultural norms, and personal experiences. This includes examining how disability is represented in different cultural and historical contexts, and how different societies construct awareness of and responses to disability.
