The Journal of Language Contact is an academic journal dedicated to the phenomenon and consequences of language contact. This magazine provides a platform for linguists, sociolinguists, dialectologists, translation researchers, and researchers in related fields to explore the interactions and influences of language in different social contexts. The magazine covers various aspects of language exposure, including language borrowing, bilingual phenomena, multilingual communities, language conversion, language competition, language integration, language policy, language planning, and language evolution. It pays special attention to the impact of language exposure on language structure, language use, and language identity.
The Journal of Language Contact encourages interdisciplinary research methods that combine the perspectives of linguistics, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and education to analyze various phenomena of language contact. The types of articles published in magazines are diverse, including original research, review articles, case studies, book reviews, as well as criticism and discussion of language contact theory.
