Linguistic Landscape - An International Journal is an international academic journal dedicated to the study of linguistic landscapes. This magazine is published by De Gruyter and aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for exploring the visual representation of language in public spaces and its social, political, cultural, and cognitive significance. The journal content not only includes theoretical analysis, but also covers empirical research on language landscapes, as well as research related to language planning, multilingualism, globalization, and migration.
The magazine encourages submission of original research articles on language landscapes, which can be qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research. The journal pays special attention to the diversity, changes, and manifestations of language landscapes in different social groups and geographical environments. In addition, the magazine also focuses on the methodological development of language landscape research and how to understand and promote language rights and equality through language landscape research. The target readers of this journal include linguists, sociologists, anthropologists, geographers, urban planners, as well as policy makers and practitioners interested in the role of language in public spaces. By publishing high-quality research, the journal aims to promote academic dialogue in the field of language landscape research and have a positive impact on relevant policies and practices.
