Transgender Studies Quarterly is an important academic journal in the field of transgender studies. Providing a highly anticipated platform for innovative research and academic achievements, aimed at challenging the objectification, pathologization, and foreignization of transgender life. It publishes interdisciplinary works that explore the diversity of gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, embodiment, and identity in ways that have not yet been fully explored by feminism and queer academia.

Its mission is to promote active dialogue among scholars, artists, activists, and other relevant individuals, studying how "transgender" functions as a category, a process, a social collective, an increasingly understandable gender identity, an identifiable threat to gender norms, and a guideline for understanding gender variability and contingency across time, space, and culture. The main topics include cultural production in transgender communities, critical analysis of transgender community research, transgender biopolitics, radical criticism of political economy, and issues related to translating gender concepts and practices across linguistic groups.
