Econometrics and Statistics is a comprehensive discipline that covers the intersection of economics and statistics, with a strong background and wide applications. This discipline was created by Norwegian economist Mr. Frisch, who coined the new term "Econometrics" based on "Biometrics". Its aim is to conduct quantitative analysis and research on economic phenomena through a combination of mathematics, statistics, and economic theory.
The combination of economics and statistics makes Econometrics and Statistics not only focus on the exposition of economic theories, but also emphasize the collection, processing, and analysis of economic data. It utilizes the theories and methods of mathematical statistics to empirically test economic models, thereby obtaining quantitative conclusions and providing scientific basis for economic decision-making.
