Iconographica雜志英文介紹

Iconographica is an academic program focused on the in-depth study of images in their historical, cultural and religious contexts. The project aims to break the framework of traditional iconography and explore the evolution and meaning of images in different contexts by integrating the perspectives of history, cultural studies and religious studies. While traditional iconographic research is often limited to the analysis of forms and symbols, the journal seeks to understand the function and impact of images from a broader interdisciplinary perspective.

In the journal's research, images are seen not only as works of art or decorative objects, but also as carriers of cultural and religious exchange. By placing images in a historical context, researchers can reveal how images reflect and shape social and religious ideas. The project emphasizes the relationship between images and social change, power structures, and religious rituals, promoting a multi-layered and multi-dimensional understanding of images.
