“Mirror,mirroronthewall,whoisthefairestoneofall??Thesebrief,butmeaningfulwordsspokenbytheevilstepmotherofSnowWhitewerethefirst“trainingwheels?tomycareerinwriting.IlovedreadingallthefairytalebookswhenIwas4andIalwayswantedtowriteliketheauthorsofthebooksdid.Theyweresocolorfulanddescriptivesoitwashardtoputtheseillustratedandwrittenpagesofboundpapersdown.Well,nowIdon’tdreamofwritingfairytalesanymorebutIactuallydowritethem.However,theyaremoredescriptiveandadvanced.Ialsowritemanyotherpieces.Someexamples,areresearchpapers,fiction/non-fictionstories,reallifestories,etc.Therearesimilarities,however,tothesepiecesofwriting.Eventhoughtheyhavedifferentgenres,eachstoryhasapieceofmywritingabilityshinningthroughthewords.Inadditiontomyloveforwriting,Ialsolovetoread.Ihavereadbooksoftimelessclassicstonewreleases.Eachwasallinallgrippingandveryenjoyable.Ifirststartedoutreadingnovelsinthirdgrade.WereadCharlieandtheChocolateFactory.Thisbookisoneofmymostmemorablebooks.AnotherisTheLion,theWitch,andtheWardrobe.Wereadthisinfifthgrade.IenjoyedthissomuchthatIwasencouragedtobuythewholeseven-bookcollectionoftheChroniclesofNarnia.Recently,IreadtheDiaryofAnneFrankinclass.Thisbook,writtenbya13-year-old,depictedthecomplicatedsituationsofalittlegirlinvolvedintheHolocaust.
Ibelievethatmanyofyourideasarecollectedfromwhatyouhavereadinbooks.IamskilledatincorporatingwhatIreadintomypieces.Iamalsogoodatattemptingandsucceedingatcompositionalrisks,andIpossessanexcellentskillfordetailsandelaboration.Thisgivesmypiecesamoreinterestingtasteandismoreexcitingtoread.AlthoughIamgoodatwriting,Iamalsogoodatreading.Iamabletodecipheranauthor’smeaninginthebook.ThatgivesmeagoodunderstandingofwhatIread.
EventhoughIhavestrongskillsinthefieldofwriting/reading,IhopetoabsorbmorewhenIreachhighschoolandtaketheFreshmanEnglishcourse.Iwishtoreadhigherlevelsofnovelstoincreasemyknowledge.SomebooksIamunabletokeepupwithitscomplicatedplotsoIhopetobeabletounderstandcertainbooksbetter.Inwriting,Ihopetoincreasemyvocabularytobrightenmypieces.Ialsohopetolearnmoreandbetterwaystoaccomplishcompositionalrisks.IknowIwillenjoyworkingandlearningfromyouandIhopetofulfillmygoals.
