Mnemosyne is an academic journal that first appeared in the form of a textual criticism magazine in 1852 and has long held a leading position in the field of classical studies worldwide. This journal is renowned for its Dutch academic tradition and has established a reputation for its rigorous and thorough research methods. Mnemosyne welcomes submissions from around the world on any topic related to the Greek and Roman classical era, including ancient history, philosophy, and archaeology, as long as they have a clear and distinguishable textual foundation. Although the journal primarily publishes articles written in English, submissions in French and German are also welcome.

The ISSN of Mnemosyne is 0026-7074 (print version) and 1568-525X (online version), with a latest impact factor of 0.4 in 2023, an increase of 0.2 from the previous year. The widespread presence of this journal in libraries is a sign of its continued reputation as a valuable academic resource for classical research. In addition, in 2022, Mnemosyne celebrated the 75th anniversary of its fourth series, which began in 1948 and is one of the oldest journals in the field.
