Journal Of Chinese Linguistics has been committed to promoting academic research in general linguistics and Chinese linguistics. As an academic journal mainly in English, it provides an important platform for linguistic scholars around the world to present and exchange research results. JCL's articles not only cover the linguistic subdisciplines of the Chinese language, but also delve into various fields of general linguistics.

The journal publishes articles of various types, including but not limited to phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. These studies involve not only Mandarin Chinese, but also dialects and minority languages across China. In this way, JCL not only promotes an understanding of the diversity and complexity of Chinese language, but also provides a wealth of empirical material for the theory and methodology of linguistics.
