Archaeofauna is an annual academic journal devoted to the study of animal remains in the field of archaeology. The journal is dedicated to publishing original research papers covering all aspects of animal remains found at archaeological sites. These studies include not only morphological analysis of animal bones, but also an in-depth exploration of the function and significance of these remains in ancient societies. Through these studies, scholars are able to better understand the relationship between ancient humans and animals, as well as the role of animals in ancient economic, cultural and religious activities.
Articles in the journal are diverse and may include reports of archaeological excavations, laboratory analysis results, theoretical discussions, and methodological studies. A rigorous peer review process ensures that each article is academically valuable and innovative. For archaeologists, historians, biologists and researchers in related fields, the journal is an important platform to access the latest research results and exchange academic views. It not only promotes the in-depth study of ancient animal remains in the academic circle, but also provides rich materials and perspectives for interdisciplinary research in related fields.
