Religion State & Society is an influential academic journal that explores the role and influence of religion in communist and ex-communist countries. The journal not only reviews the historical interaction between religion and communism, but also focuses on the current state of religious belief and practice in these countries during their political and social transitions.
The journal covers how religious beliefs play a role in social change and how they interact with state institutions, political power, and social structures. In addition, it looks at how religious organizations compete for influence within the public sphere, and how these interactions shape citizens' identities and social values.
