Aspasia is an internationally peer-reviewed annual journal that focuses on women and gender history research in Central and Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Europe. The disciplines involved include history, Central and Eastern European, Eastern and Southeastern European studies, gender studies, and political science. Aim to change the history of women and gender in Europe by expanding comparative research on women and gender to all regions of Europe, creating a European history of women and gender that encompasses more than just traditional Western perspectives. It particularly emphasizes the ways in which gender intersects with other social organization categories and promotes the exploration of transnational aspects of women and gender history within, towards, and from Central and Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Europe. This journal provides an important channel for scholars working in Central and Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Europe to publish articles.
