The journal Corpora is a major scholarly publication in the field of linguistics dedicated to advancing the research and practice of the interdisciplinary field of corpus linguistics. The journal not only focuses on traditional corpora-building techniques, but also covers innovative applications of corporas such as natural language processing (NLP), the application of machine learning to corpus analysis, and the use of corpus data for language modeling and language understanding.
The journal especially emphasizes the diversity and depth of corpus analysis methods, including quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis and mixed method research. Through these methods, researchers can have a deeper understanding of language usage patterns, language change, language contact and language acquisition. In addition, the Corpus encourages researchers to explore the role of corpus data in describing and prescribing language rules, and how such data can be used to support or disprove existing linguistic theories.
