The academic journal Tropics is a publication focused on the study of biodiversity and ecosystems in the tropics. It not only covers the basic theory of ecology, but also explores the frontier issues of interdisciplinary disciplines such as environmental science, plant science, nature conservation and landscape ecology. The journal encourages scholars to submit high-quality, original research that may include, but is not limited to, species diversity in tropical rainforests, ecosystem services, the effects of climate change on tropical ecosystems, and the structure and function of biomes.

Publications typically address the dynamics of tropical biomes, interactions between species, energy flows and material cycles in ecosystems, and the potential impacts of human activities on these ecosystems.
