Aries Journal For The Study of Western Esotericism is an important academic journal dedicated to the study of Western mysticism. It covers a wide range of periods from ancient to modern times, as well as numerous different mystical traditions and practices. Its research areas include but are not limited to alchemy, astrology, magic, mystical philosophy, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, etc. For astrology, it may explore the historical evolution, theoretical foundations, and social and cultural influences of different astrological systems. The study of magic may involve the interpretation of magical rituals, spells, and the relationship between magic and religion. In terms of mystical philosophy, there may be an analysis and interpretation of the thoughts of certain mystical philosophers.
The articles published in this journal usually adopt interdisciplinary research methods, integrating theories and methods from multiple fields such as history, religious studies, philosophy, sociology, and cultural studies to comprehensively and deeply understand the phenomenon of Western mysticism.
