Slovensky Narodopis-slovak Ethnology focuses on ethnology, cultural/social anthropology and related disciplines, with a special focus on exploring social phenomena in Central Europe. Most of the articles in the journal are based on ethnographic fieldwork data obtained through meticulous field research in order to gain insight and analysis into the life, culture and changes of particular social groups.
The content of the journal includes empirical research, theoretical discussion, and comprehensive analysis, and aims to promote academic discussion in the social sciences and humanities. The diversity of journals is reflected in the types of papers they publish, ranging from empirical data analysis to theoretical framework building to comprehensive research across disciplines. In addition, in order to serve an international audience, the main content of the journal is published in Slovak, Czech and English, with English abstracts, ensuring that scholars and readers from non-Slavic-speaking countries have access to the research results and the core content of the discussions.
