Illes i Imperis is an academic journal dedicated to the study of colonial and postcolonial societies. Since its publication, it has provided scholars with a platform to publish research on these social histories and realities. The goal of the journal editorial committee is to be open and accept all methods that meet the quality requirements of social sciences to study colonial societies and their subsequent realities. The journal not only accepts historical papers, but also welcomes contributions from other fields of social sciences.
This magazine focuses on research in Latin America, the Philippines, Southeast Asia, North Africa, and the Spanish metropolitan world from the 15th to the 20th century. However, its scope is not limited to this, but also includes research on other empires such as the Portuguese, French, British, and Dutch empires, comparative perspectives, and analysis based on typical concerns in world history. The journal is published in multiple languages, including Spanish, Italian, English, French, and Portuguese, to promote communication among scholars from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
