The Malaysian Journal of Economic Research is an academic journal dedicated to research in the field of Malaysian economics. The Malaysian economy has undergone significant transformation and growth since the 1970s, initially dominated by agriculture and relying on primary product exports. Later, it gradually adjusted its industrial structure and implemented export-oriented economic policies, particularly achieving rapid development in the electronics, manufacturing, construction, and service industries. The "Malaysia Plan" implemented by the Malaysian government since 1965, as well as subsequent economic policies such as the "New Economic Policy (NEP)", "National Development Policy (NDP)", and the "National Vision Policy (NVP)" of the "2020 Vision", all aimed to promote the sustainable development and structural restructuring of the national economy.

As an academic platform in this field, the Malaysian Journal of Economic Research not only focuses on Malaysia's domestic economic policies and development trends, but also covers various aspects such as regional economic cooperation, international trade, and investment trends, providing valuable information and research results for scholars, policy makers, and industry professionals.
